What We Have Achieved In 2023 As Sustainable Coffee Roaster
As we embark on the journey into the new year, we are thrilled to share the strides we’ve made in aligning our business with our sustainability initiatives.
While our electric fleet remains unchanged in size due to the search for a suitable long-distance van, we’ve significantly reduced our emissions by converting all vehicles to Euro 6 engines. In the realm of deliveries, a remarkable 80% of local shipments now employ electric vehicles, accompanied by a 60% reduction in local delivery packaging through the implementation of reusable Riverford-style boxes.
Our commitment extends to the selection of suppliers, as we now prioritise those actively working to reduce their carbon footprint. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we’ve planted 1,112 trees and contributed to numerous carbon-positive projects, offsetting almost 100 tonnes of the 490 tonnes of CO2 produced in 2022.
Anticipating a notable reduction in our carbon footprint for 2023, we’re proud to declare at least a 20% offset through Ecologi. Furthermore, our dedication to sustainability is evident in a 40% reduction in waste through enhanced recycling practices and the elimination of products utilising plastic or non-recyclable materials. As we step into the new year, our commitment to a greener, more responsible future remains unwavering.
