Christmas Markets 2019 & Where To Grab a Coffee

This month I thought I’d look at the best Christmas Markets to visit during the festive season. There is something about the piping-hot Glühwein,
twinkling lights
and bustling pop-up stalls that fills me with that Christmas cheer. I’ve also highlighted the best places you can grab a cup of the dark stuff and refuel while your shopping.

Bath

28 November – December 15

Named The Telegraph’s Best Market in their 2019 rundown of all Top British Christmas Markets, Bath is one not to miss! They have even won a top spot on Vogues list of their 12 Favourite Christmas Markets in the UK.

During the festive season, 170 stalls line the streets of Bath around the wonderful Roman Baths and the Abbey. Set amongst the picturesque Georgian streets, it’s the perfect place to do a spot of Christmas shopping.

Bath and the South West do a superb job of supporting small independent businesses with 80% of their seasonal pop-up chalets being run by local makers, designers and businesses.

The Harbourside Christmas Market

Preparing to get you merry again, The Harbourside Christmas Market is returning to the waterfront from November 23rd, promising “five festive-fulled weekends”. Once again the covered walkway will be transformed into a ‘magical Maker’s Market’, showcasing 50 of Bristol’s brightest independents. Expect everything from award-winning preserves to artisan foods, unique gifts and authentic Bristol-made art. There will also be plenty of street food vendors and live bands to enjoy.

Broadmead Christmas Market

All underneath Broadmead’s glittering Christmas tree, visitors can enjoy for 45 days of merriment. Peruse over 50 unique stalls showcasing seasonal delights, handcrafted decorations and unique gifts, all while warming up with a classic mulled bevvy. There will be plenty of entertainment provided by Santa and his reindeers, and even a chance to try your hand at competitive curling. For when you need to rest those shopping feet, the Jäger Barn Bar offers heated seats and live music.

Winter Wonderland at The Mall

If you’re planning to do some Christmas shopping at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway you are in for a treat. Every year The Mall is transformed into a festive paradise and this season is set to be the biggest yet. Christmas shoppers can enjoy the second largest ice rink in the country, at 1,500 sq meters. Cycling enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy the ice rink, with the IceByk track allowing riders to cruise at high speeds. Kids can also meet Santa at his Enchanted Ice Castle.
