Honduras Sugar Cane Decaff
Medium Roast
Our Honduras Decaff is produced using a sugar cane method. process. Sugar cane is good for more than just sweetening your coffee, its also great for decaffeinating it. That’s right, there is a natural, clean and green method of decaffeinating coffee beans that uses that sugary treat, sugar cane.
The Sugar Cane process is an organic, process that uses ethyl acetate which is formed from sugarcane mixed with water. Once this mixture is achieved, the green coffee beans are soaked and steamed. Next the ethyl acetate is flowed around the beans to clear away the caffeine. Then the ethyl acetate is cleaned off and the beans are ready to go.
The sugar cane method of preparing decaff is a natural, safe, chemical free and certainly sweet mode of decaffeination. Choose beans that have undergone the sugar cane method if you want some sweet beans that deliver all the lively flavour of fully caffeinated beans while supply little to no caffeine.
Thanks to some scientific smarts and creativity, it’s possible to have decaf coffee that tastes the same – just without the caffeine!
Our Honduras Sugar Cane Decaf proves that removing the caffeine doesn’t mean compromising on flavour. Carefully sourced from our long-term partners at Cafesmo in Honduras, this coffee is naturally decaffeinated using the sugar cane (EA) process, preserving the sweetness, body and character of the beans.
Expect a beautifully balanced cup with notes of Cacao, Nutty, Brown sugar, Cane sugar, Creamy, a smooth body and a clean, sweet finish. Whether enjoyed as an espresso or with milk, it’s a decaf you’ll happily drink at any time of day.
A Coffee That Gives Back
For every kilo sold, Bristol Twenty Coffee Company will donate £1 towards planting fruit trees on the coffee farms that are part of the Cafesmo community.
These trees will:
- Provide farmers with an additional source of income through fruit production.
- Increase biodiversity on the farms.
- Improve soil health and resilience.
- Offer natural shade and help create a healthier environment for coffee plants.
By choosing this coffee, you’re not only supporting exceptional coffee producers, you’re helping invest in the long-term future of their farms and communities.
One bag = One pound donated = More fruit trees for Honduras.
We think you should never have to skip flavor when you want to skip caffeine—and that you have the right to choose a process free of chemicals and flavor alterations. We’re here to change the way the world thinks about coffee without caffeine.
